Notes on the Timetable

  1. HMT — Harmonic Mean Time is the plaza's fixed reference clock, kept at Makoua in the Republic of the Congo at UTC+01:00. It is never adjusted for daylight saving, so the switch is always at noon and always at the same instant for every visitor.
  2. No market is open for more than 24 hours. A market opens at 12:05 PM HMT and closes at 12:00 PM HMT the following day: a window of exactly 23 hours and 55 minutes.
  3. The 5-minute refresh. Between 12:00 and 12:05 PM HMT the plaza is closed while the servers are refreshed. No order may be placed in that interval.
  4. Unpaid baskets are emptied at every switchover. Baskets holding no completed payment are cleared at 12:00 PM HMT and cannot be restored.
